The short version
ChargeWise republishes public price files. The dataset contains no patient information — no names, no medical records, no protected health information (PHI) of any kind. We collect very little about visitors, we do not sell personal information, and we run no advertising trackers.
What we collect
- API usage logs. When a request is made with an API key, we record the key used, the endpoint, the query parameters (for example, a procedure code), the timestamp, the response status, and the response time. This is how we enforce daily caps, operate the service, and understand which data customers actually use.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operations.
- Your browser, your device. If you paste your own customer key into the lookup page, the page stores it in your browser's local storage on your device so you don't have to re-enter it. It is not sent anywhere except as the key on your own API requests, and you can clear it from the page at any time.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep the message and your address to answer you and, for customers, to administer your key.
What we do not collect
- No patient data, health records, diagnoses, or treatment information — the published files we work from contain none, and we never ask for any.
- No accounts or passwords for visitors using the public lookup page.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site sets no marketing cookies.
How we use what we collect
To run the service, enforce key caps, prevent abuse, fix problems, answer email, and — for API usage in aggregate — decide what data to build next. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except service providers who host the site and API on our behalf, or when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about your key or email, ask us to delete it, or ask us to deactivate your key at any time: hello@chargewisehealth.com. Deleting usage logs tied to a key ends that key's service.
